In 1954 There Masotti, a skilled craftsman in the tradition of Bolognese corset opened handmade clothing boutique in Bologna. The name "La Perla" was inspired by the jewelry case lined with red velvet with the first creations transported. After years of success in the apparel industry, entered the world of La Perla swimwear by La Perla beachwear in 1971. La Perla beachwear combine with charming aesthetics advanced search for a new design and a constant inspiration from Haute Couture. In 1978 a second collection of swimwear, AnnaClub, created to offer a collection of classic beachwear for those who want to feel both elegant and confident body. 1991 marks the first year of La Perla boutique opened in the heart of international fashion capitals, Milan and Paris.
